The Great Glen Relay 66 miles. 12 Stage Multi -Terrain Relay Teams of Six. ENTRY FEE £30 PER TEAM - CHEQUES MADE PAYABLE TO INVERNESS HARRIERS. Over 2500 people took part in last year's event and with a 13.1 mile half marathon or the 1.5 mile Monty''s Mini Marathon to choose from, there is something for everyone! This year's event will include an accurately measured 13.1 mile half marathon open to anyone aged 17 years or older on 19/10/08 and Monty''s Mini Marathon of approximately 1.5 miles open to all age groups. Entrants under 11 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible adult who is also entered for the race. The closing date for receipt of postal entries in Monty''s Mini Marathon is 19th Sept. Please do not send in postal entry forms if they will arrive after this date as they will not be processed. Entries will be accepted on the day for Monty''s Mini Marathon until 9:00 am. Strictly no entries will be processed after this time, even if there are queues, so it is advisable to arrive early. This is to enable the run to start on time at 09:35 am. The 11am Start will be at the Badaguish Cairngorm Outdoor Centre, a green and open oasis within the Glenmore Forest, with competitors being transported up to the Centre by buses from Aviemore. A spectacular scenic course on road and excellent forest tracks starting in the shadow of the Cairngorm Mountains, around breathtaking Loch Morlich, through stunning Glenmore Forest Park and Rothiemurchus Estate, crossing the River Spey and finishing in the new Aviemore Centre. Speyside Trust based at Badaguish Cairngorm Outdoor Centre is a small independent charity helping children and adults with learning difficulties and other special needs. Previously called the Karrimor International Mountain Marathon (KIMM), now called the Original Mountain Marathon (OMM). The Original Mountain Marathon is an annual test of navigation skills and fitness. Each October over 3,000 entrants compete in the greatest outdoor challenge in the UK. The formula remains a challenging 2-day Mountain event (the Elite course being 2 sequential marathon lengths) where a team of two navigate their way around a 2-day course, in mountainous terrain, in a new location each year, carrying all food stove tent and equipment for an overnight camp.
