The Montane Featherlite Marathon Jacket Tested • Run 4 It:

What is it:

A jacket designed for women runners that is extremely lightweight, lighter than an average banana, and the most packable running specific jacket on the market. It comes with a handy stuff sack with velcro strap in case you overheat and need to carry it. It saves having to tie it round your waist but a ball the size of your fist attached to your wrist is not entirely comfortable but does solve the problem of where to put the jacket. It is a great windbreaker and even in cold weather with a long sleeve top underneath, is plenty warm enough once you get into your stride. Where is performs less well than some other jackets is water resistance. Our Scottish weather doesn’t do the jacket any favours and it doesn’t take long before the rain seeps through and in a continuous downpour, you’ll get wet. It is better suited to light rain and windy conditions. The jacket is light and comfortable to wear and it is very breathable making it a quality piece of running kit. Where other heavier jackets may feel slightly bulky, the marathon jacket does not. It is great for all types of runner whether they are road, hill, fell and mountain runners who need something light and durable.
